Christmas at the Project

In my first week there were Christmas activities arranged at the schools for the children by the organizations coordinators. The children loved the activities, which included apple bobbing, outdoor games and reading. It was a great way for me to be introduced to the children...they were very excited and very friendly towards me. The activities also helped prepare me for teaching in my second week. Most of the children recognized me and remembered my name and the games we played.

I felt the activities were very beneficial to the children as it gave them an opportunity to have fun and enjoy themselves, as most of them come from agricultural backgrounds and often work to help their parents. The children also appeared to love learning English, and although I only know basic Spanish, I felt they enjoyed and benefited from me speaking English to them. The Christmas activities made me look forward to the rest of my time with Great Aves.
