The Wayra Urku Animal Rescue Centre cares for and rehabilitates animals rescued from captivity, ready for release back into the wild. Opened in September 2006, the animal sanctuary cares all types of monkeys, large cats, parrots, kinkajous and other jungle animals. Wayra Urku needs inventive volunteers to help care for the animals and maintain the sanctuary.

Great Aves is a non-profit organisation involved with community and educational development. The organisation aims to create opportunities for everyone through schools and the local community in England and overseas. Great Aves works to enhance what already exists, by increasing awareness of community activities and events, and the value of education.
Always wanted to get involved with a meaningful project, but unable to travel halfway around the world to help? Great Aves has opportunities available in UK, where you can with a one-off contribution, a few hours a month, to all the time you can afford. The Buy-a-Book Campaign aims to supply all 8 schools and 400 children along the Arajuno Road, in the amazon jungle of ecuador with books. Only a small donation can buy books to help us build up a reading resource.
